Google is building a new campus and it looks like the future.
The new campus will be located close to their current buildings in Mountain View, California but this one will be different in that it will be open to the public. Nicknamed Google Charleston East, the building will be built from scratch and be two stories tall and about 595,000 square feet. It will be built in about a year and be sort of a public face of the Google brand in that people will be able to walk through the campus and visit certain parts of the building. We imagine their will be a store filled with Google made products along with restaurants and places to enjoy the outdoors.
This aerial shot shows the interesting woven roof and overall footprint of the futuristic building.
This view shows employees walking and biking towards the campus from the west.
There will be trees and plenty of green space surrounding the new building for people to enjoy.
The roof of the building will regulate air flow, check air quality flowing into the building and cancels out the noise from outside.
The new Charleston East building is surely impressive from the renderings and the fact that it will be open to the public is pretty cool. While not as ambitious as Apple’s new spaceship headquarters, Google’s new campus will surely have more charm and character.
